In-Between is to communicate the idea of the SkyTrain as an "in-between" space in relation to its passengers and geography. From the essay "Moving Images of Home" by John Di Stefano, he introduces French anthropologist Marc Auge's idea of the "non-space". This notion of the non places suggest space such as motorways and transit lounges of having having achieved a "type of temporary rootedness in the familiar anonymity of space." Our era, according to Stefano, is characterized by a profound shift in our perception of distance as a result of rapid transit systems. The emphasis on mobility over statsis in the 20th century perpetuated in the loss of sense of home (space), and the "non-space", is a replacement or a new space of the dissapearing belonging.
